Coffee is one of the most used drugs in the world. Why is this the case when coffee has been known to reduce blood flow to the brain? The people making decisions in our country know this and use it to keep control over us. You see, coffee activates the flight or fight system in the brain by raising cortisol levels. This means that most of the blood in your brain and in your organs funnel to your arms and legs, to get you ready to fight or flight (run away).
Meaning, while you are under the influence of caffeine your brain is working at a lower capacity and your body’s immune system is impaired. Not only is caffeine considered toxic to your body, coffee beans come from some of the most contaminated plants as far as pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Organic coffee is better for this reason; however, the caffeine still wreaks havoc on your body.
Also consider what other drinks, foods, or medicines have caffeine in them. If you are looking to dust yourself off and realize your true power, this is one of the best ways to do it. Whether you want to make more money, have better relationships, or be healthier, ridding yourself of caffeine is extremely important. One of my favorite books that discusses this topic is Caffeine Blues by Stephen Cherniske, M.S. The book is extremely well written, making it easy to read and he provides resources to back up his information.
Did you know the main funders of caffeine research are Coca Cola and Pepsi? Do you think they would publish this information when it would destroy their sales? Caffeine products are an easy way to make money because it is addictive, and it keeps you in a perpetual cycle of needing the “quick” energy fix. How many times have you said, “I will be fine once I have my coffee”? Your body becomes dependent on it.
Caffeine Blues also explains an easy way to come off caffeine while avoiding the nasty withdrawal symptoms. I highly recommend reading this book if you are reliant on coffee or any other caffeine product to give you energy. Only you can take back your power, there is no time like the present!
